PBSO says residential burglaries are up. The entry of choice is sliding glass doors.
Car buglaries are more common at night, but the forced entry type is more common during the day. Police speculate that the sound of glass being broken is more likely to be heard at night.
The controversial addition of a Turnpike exchange on Palmetto Park Road has been postponed indefinitely because Turnpike traffic is down significantly.
The bad news is the Motor Vehicle Bureau's Delray office is closing toward the end of summer (budget cut). The good news is the Tax Collectors office in Delray at 501 South Congress will take over driver license renewals and duplicates (U.S. citizens only).
