Important Message from Lake Worth Drainage

28 May 2009

Many communities utilize an internal discharge control structure (also know as an operable weir), which moves water from your internal lake system into a Lake Worth Drainage District canal.

It is important for flood control that the structure be closed/locked and only opened after receiving authorization by the Lake Worth Drainage
District. Opening a structure without authorization may cause canal water to backflow into your community system.

Association Board Presidents are requested to pre-designate in writing the individual(s) who are authorized to act on behalf of the association regarding the operation of its structures. These individuals may be board members, drainage committee members, or
individuals from a property management company.

Please provide the current name, address, phone number(s) and email for those individual(s) who are authorized to operate your community’s discharge control structures. Send this information to Rosemary Rayman at one of the following:

Lake Worth Drainage District, 13081 Military Trail, Delray Beach, FL 33484

fax at 561-495-9694

email to RosemaryRayman@Lwdd.net.

Your timely response and cooperation is greatly appreciated. Working together we can provide your community with effective flood control.
